How to Prevent Autism Tip of the week
· By Dara Berger
Make your own treats or snacks. You may be surprised how much your family enjoys them!
When you make food at home, you control every ingredient. Store-bought snacks — even ones marketed as healthy — often contain hidden sugars, artificial flavors, and preservatives.
Some easy homemade snack ideas to get you started:
- Energy balls made with oats, nut butter, honey, and dark chocolate chips - Sliced apples with almond butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon - Homemade trail mix with raw nuts, seeds, and unsweetened dried fruit - Veggie sticks with hummus
Getting kids involved in making their own snacks is also a great way to get them excited about eating healthier. Try it this weekend!
